Week 10

Kia ora kākano 8 families, hope you are all enjoying your Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Day.  The final week of term is a very busy one, please read through the notices carefully.

SICKNESS

Teachers have noticed children are very tired, and some are unwell with snotty noses and horrible coughs.  If your child is not well PLEASE keep them at home.

SCHOOL DROP OFF

School starts at 8:45, it is important your child is at school by this time each day!  A reminder that it is not safe to drop your child off at school prior to 8am as teachers often have before school meetings.  All teachers are in their classroom from 8:30.

This term we are taking part in Operation Christmas Child. Each class has a shoebox which they

will pack with different gifts, prayers, and letters. This will be sent to a child across the world who

would not normally receive a gift on Christmas Day. Your child may wish to put a little somethingspecial into the box. Look at  “Operation Christmas Child Videos 2022” which has some inspiringvideos and ideas.

WEEK 10 Plan

Tuesday: Dress Rehearsal (please make sure your child has their costume at school; black top and pants/shorts)

Wednesday: K2, K5, K7, K8 performance - children need to be back at school at 5:30, they are to meet in their classroom.  Their teacher will be waiting for them.

Thursday: Normal school day for K8. K1, K3, K4, K6 performance

Friday: Normal school day, sausage sizzle and juicies for sale ($1.50 each)

School Production - Little Red Rocking Hood

All kakano classes have been working enthusiastically to learn their dance for the production. Our dance is to the song - The Purple People Eater.

The evening shows are now sold out, and there are no door sales. Matinee tickets are the only ones available. Tickets can be bought online from Eventbrite. TICKETS ON SALE NOW - CLICK HERE

Swimming next term: We are very lucky to have a school pool at St Mary's and swimming will be part of our term 4 learning program. You could help me by ensuring your child can put on their own togs and then dry themselves and put their own uniform on after swimming. K8 will have twenty children in our class and if they are independent with their own togs and clothes we can make the most of the time we get. Thank you
