Week 6

hope all our kākano families are having a lovely weekend.  Even though our cross country race has been postponed until term 4 we are still training every morning (weather permitting).  It is great that the kākano teachers can see improved fitness levels among all the children.

Home Learning

Last week I sent home a ring with ten alphabet letters set up as flashcards. These are for you to practice with your child. Keep this ring of letters in your child's bookbag. This way I can add to it. Your child's bookbag needs to come back to school everyday. We have a box for bookbags in the class by the class roll.

Recycling

Please keep the recycling materials coming into school.  It is amazing to see the different things that can be made from cardboard boxes, bottle tops and other recycling materials.

Maths

We use a lot of materials during our maths lessons. However this week we started to write some number sentences. Writing numbers is really challenging. Here are some photos of Kakano 8 in action.

Upcoming Events - For your diary

On Friday 28th October at 9.00 am we are celebrating Grandparents Day.  Grandparents and Grandfriends are welcome to come and spend the morning with us starting with Mass in the church followed by morning tea and activities at school.

Fathers Day GIfts

The PTA is running their father's day stall this week. The children can bring along their money if they want and purchase their own gift for Dad.
