Week 3
Kia ora whānau,
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and made the most of the fine weather when it was here!
Last week we had many children absent with sickness. Thank you for keeping your child at home when they have a cough or unwell. I would appreciate some more boxes of tissues - this is part of your child's stationery to send a box into the class. We really need them.
Cross Country - we have been busy training for our school cross country which is happening in in week 4. It is not always Kakano- 8's favourite part of the day but they are persevering and able to run with all the other classes now.
Fun Netball for Kākano children
We have a lovely volunteer who is keen to share her skills and knowledge of Netball with our tamariki. Every Tuesday there will be “Fun Netball” for all children who wish to participate on the Turf at lunchtime (weather permitting).
Collage Materials
Thank you to those who have recycled boxes, bottle caps, yoghurt containers and brought them to school. We still need more of these items as the children love creating with them.
Mini Marathon
Thanks to those of you who are keen to do this. Please remember to return your forms.
Feast Day of Mary MacKillop
This week we will be celebrating Saint Mary MacKillop who is a very important part of our school. Make sure to ask your children what they know about Mary MacKillop over the week. We will be having a school mass on Friday which all whānau are invited to.
Special Sunday School Mass
Next Sunday, the parish has a Māori Miha (Māori Mass) at 10.00 am followed by a procession carrying the Statue of Mother Mary around the Church and our school. All students and families are invited to join the procession with their parents at 11.00 am in front of St Mary’s Church.
